SavaJe OS
1.1.0
net network configuration tool
Tools tab: Net
The net
tool can be used to configure the network setup of
your
SavaJe OS
machine. There are tabs for configuring
local area network (LAN) settings, dialup connections, and
wired equivalent privacy (WEP) 802.11b wireless networking.
A new account can be created by clicking the + button. An existing account can be deleted by pressing and holding your stylus long enough on the account.
In the main dialup screen, you can change the modem initialization string to match your specific modem and you can restore the default by deleting it. You can also add a dialing prefix to play tricks on your phone system.
For a dialup account, you need to select either Modem or Serial Direct . If you select Modem , you will be able to set up two phone numbers make sure all necessary digits are present. If you select Serial Direct , the dial application (see dial(apps) ) will assume there is no modem and thus will not try to initialize one: in this case, a cross over serial cable should connect your unit with another machine that runs PPP.
None of your changes will be saved until you exit the net tool. Make sure you never run the net tool and the dial application simultaneously as they may overwrite the configuration file that the other saved.
Select the WEP tab to configure WEP. You can add either a 40-bit key or a 128-bit key. Select the checkbox to enable WEP, and type your key in the text field.
