browse — internet browser without security manager

SYNOPSIS

Tools tab: Browse

DESCRIPTION

The Browse tool runs the same code as web(apps) , but without a security manager. The web browser icon in the Apps tab runs the applets in a secure sandbox where applets cannot access system resources. However, applets installed locally may need access to the system resources to be fully functional . Use the browser icon in Tools to run local applets.

NOTE:

Applets run from the browser in the Tools tab can permanently compromise your system because they are not contained in a secure sandbox.
