NAME

date — display/set time and date

SYNOPSIS

date [-s mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm  am|pm time_zone]

DESCRIPTION

Display or set the current date and time. With no arguments, date displays the current system date and time. The -s option sets the system date and time.

EXAMPLE

date -s 1/10/1996 12:15 am est
