tips — miscellaneous tricks for SavaJe OS

DESCRIPTION

This page collects various tricks that are not (yet) documented elsewhere.

Cutting and pasting

To cut and paste text between text fields of different applications, use the following keys:

ctrl-c	copy to clipboard
ctrl-v	paste contents of clipboard
ctrl-x	cut (delete and copy to clipboard)

Red screens, stack traces

If SavaJe OS crashes, a register dump and stack trace are currently saved to a file in /ramfs of the form core.##########.txt . If you can reproduce a crash, please forward a detailed description of how to reproduce it and a copy of the core file to support@savaje.com .

Starting the RMI registry

To start the RMI registry on a machine running SavaJe OS , run the following command from the shell:
