romfs(doc)

To add applications to the apps partition:

1. Download the mkromfs utility from the tools section of our Download Center .
2. Use the mkromfs utility to extract apps.romfs into a directory.
3. Add your application to this directory.
4. Optionally, you can create any necessary JNLP files and add them to this directory as well. You can also edit jre/savaJe/guicfg.xml to add shortcut icons for your application to the apps tab of the GUI shell. See jnlp(shell) for more information.
5. Using mkromfs , make apps.romfs and label it as apps . Note that the maximum size for the apps partition is 5632 K in the case of an iPAQ with 16 MB of ROM. Depending on your ROM size, you can calculate the maximum possible size.
6. Reload the apps partition using either the Windows Setup Utility, manual installation, or the SavaJe Flash Utility. Please refer to the install_ipaq(doc) for more information. When you reset your iPAQ, you should find your application in the /apps directory.
