SavaJe OS
1.1.0
The GUI shell that appears when SavaJe OS is booted is the primary user interface for end users. The GUI shell uses the Java network launching protocol (JNLP) to launch applications from desktop icons. See jnlp(shell) .
The following picture shows an example of the SavaJe OS GUI shell:
At the top of the GUI shell is a clock and battery icons that
represent the battery in the iPAQ itself and the battery in the
sleeve (if present).
The J
icon at upper right displays the

About
screen,
including version information.
The icons on the tabbed panels represent Java applications that can be run by touching the icon. Each icon is associated with a JNLP-style application descriptor file (See jnlp(shell) ).
There is a command-line shell that can be used for development. See lsh(shell) .
It is possible to replace the default GUI shell with another
application. See
prop(shell)
for information about setting
the system property savaJe.shell
.
